Convenient Size

Our pocket editions really are "pocket" sized. The final trimmed size of each book is  approximately 3-1/2" by 5-1/8".  They were designed to fit in a work shirt pocket or the hip pocket of a pair of jeans.  That's why we say, "You don't need deep pockets to carry our books."  (That statement can also reflect the fact that while the cost-of-living has risen about 300% in the last 25 years, we have raised our pocket edition prices on 20% in that time.

Hell for Strong

Since our founder started out as an underground coal miner, he realized what a harsh environment miners work in.  For this reason our books are made to be just as tough as a miner.  The pages in our books are side-stitched (stapled together) before the cover in glued on.  This makes it virtually impossible to lose a page.  The covers are made from coated cover stock with a varnished finish coat that resists dirt and grease.

Extensive Index

Our customers say that even more valuable than the size of our pocket editions is the extensive index in the back of each edition.  Most books contain 1,000s of listings.  Along with listings for specific terms such as: Alcohol, Guards, Oxygen cylinders, Seat belts, etc., our indexes include such listings as: Distances and Times.  (This makes finding regulations which you know include a distance or time much faster to find.)  Also using listings such as Examinations, Inspections, Tests, Training, and Time can help you audit your own safety program to make sure that you are in compliance.
